A SUTTON boxer who is to make a comeback fight to raise cash for a kidney charity is proving to be a big hit at the box office.
Frankie Graham (42) will step into the ring for the first time in 14 years as part of the Raging Bull event at Nottingham's
Royal Concert Hall on 3rd May.
The former amateur fighter, who will clash with Dougie Scott in the super-middleweight division, will donate his entire purse from the night to the Renal Failure Charity in tribute to his father who died from the condition.
And since announcing his return to action, boxing fans across Ashfield have been quick to snap up tickets to get behind their local hero.
Fight promoter John Ashton told Chad: "Frankie Graham is proving very popular. It would seem that everyone in the Ashfield area is going.
'Gesture'"Donating his purse to the Renal Failure Charity is a fantastic gesture. Frankie is looking fantastic, he really has got himself in great shape and will not let his army of fans down."
Speaking ahead of the fight, Frankie told Chad the charity donation was the perfect way to honour his father's memory.
"My dad suffered from kidney failure for a large percentage of his life and it took a toll on our family and especially my mother," he said.
The event, which has been jointly organised by Fight Club International and Kirkby-based John Ashton Promotions, also features local favourites Mark Buck, Paul Hand, Danny Hill and Andy Flint and British Super Heavyweight champion Daz Davis defending his crown.
