A SUTTON wordsmith is looking forward to the publication of her debut romantic novel set in Nottinghamshire.
Tracy Marsh — who writes under her pen name Scarlet Marsh — completed her novel Too Good to be True in May last year and it will be available from publishers Authorhouse in two weeks.
The 46-year-old started writing the book in January last year when her two boys left home and she was able to devote more time to it.
She said: "I had always wanted to write a book and this was a new year's resolution.
"I found the writing process quite easy — some of it is from places that I have been to, but most of it is from my imagination.
"The characters have become people that I have got to know and they are like friends."
The novel, which is set in the present day, tells the tale of a young woman in her 20s who has recently been jilted, but falls in love with a new man with a shady past.
During the course of the story, something from his past returns to put a spanner in the works and while it is not specifically set in the Ashfield area, readers will be able to draw parallels with places they know.
Tracy now has a second novel in the pipeline, but she does not want to give too many details away yet.
- The novel, with prices starting from £8.80, is available from Waterstones in London and online at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Authorhouse.
