A NEW state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment centre at King's Mill Hospital will open its doors to patients for the first time on 4th August, hospital bosses have announced.
The King's Treatment Centre will be the first facility to open as part of the £320m hospital redevelopment and will accommodate planned patient visits which do not require an in-patient stay, including outpatient appointments, day surgery, endoscopy
and diagnostic tests.

Health chiefs say the uniquely-designed building will also offer a range of fast-track facilities such as therapy, cardiology, audiology, general surgery, gastroenterology, vascular surgery and pre-operative assessments.

The 16,590sqft treatment centre provides accommodation over three floors and forms part of the Modernisation of Acute Services (MAS) scheme.

Tracy Doucét, chairman of Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust which runs King's Mill, told Chad the impressive centre would provide the best possible patient care.

"The MAS scheme is the biggest ever investment in the NHS locally and forms part of our pledge to provide the best care, delivered by the best people in the best place," she said.

"Opening the King's Treatment Centre is a major landmark in the creation of the new hospital and signals the beginning of a new era.

"Patients will be treated in a truly modern facility fit for the 21st Century, offering a range of complementary services under one roof."
