HEAVY thundery downpours and hailstones caused flash flooding across Ashfield and Mansfield late on Sunday afternoon.
The A38, Mill Lane at Huthwaite and parts of the MARR route were worst affected by the storms as large amounts of surface water gathered on roads.

Sutton resident Shelley Mercer captured these images of the flooding at Spring Bank at Sutton, at the bottom of Kirkby Road.

One house on Spring Bank suffered flooding, with residents helping the elderly residents to mop up.

:L We live on Charles Street (sutton), right next to sutton lawn, and we were also hit by the floods. As our house is directly infront of the water mains, after it burst, it flooded down the banks and straight into our garden, and through the entry into the house. It totally destroyed everything in it's path, and left a horrible smell of poo. The emergency services were called, and we still haven't had anyone come to check it out...
