POTENTIAL foster carers in Mansfield and Ashfield are being given the chance to find out more about looking after youngsters during Foster Care Fortnight.
The event, which has been organised by Nottinghamshire County Council as part of a national campaign, aims to raise the profile of fostering and recruit 60 new carers.

Events run until 25th May and members of the recruitment team and will be at Asda in Sutton today between 9am-4pm and at Mansfield's Four Seasons shopping centre on Tuesday between 9am-5pm.

Elaine Mills, recruitment and publicity officer for the fostering service, told Chad: "We have an urgent need for more carers, particularly to care for teenagers and siblings.

"If you feel you could offer vital support to some of our most vulnerable children by providing them with a stable family environment whilst they are unable to live with their own families, we would love to hear from you."
