THE Duke of Gloucester will officially open the revamped Ashfield Health Village at a special event next month.
His visit on 8th April marks the completion of Nottinghamshire County Teaching Primary Care Trust's multi-million pound investment programme at the community hospital site in Kirkby.

The aging health complex has been significantly modernised to provide a wider range of health services and to make it more accessible for residents –– while it also boasts a new community primary care centre with extended opening hours, as well as a new rehabilitation centre.

During his visit, the Duke will be given a tour of the new facilities and will meet staff, patients and representatives from partner organisations before unveiling a commemorative plaque.

Said Wendy Saviour, Nottinghamshire County PCT chief executive: "Improving access to GPs and community health services has been identified as a very important priority for the PCT and patients.

"We have invested significantly into Ashfield Health Village to deliver health services closer to people's homes in modern facilities, which we believe will benefit the local community for many years to come and lead to real improvements to people's health and well being."

I'd rather see a 'commoner' open it, not some arm of the controlling oligarchy..
