Bench in memory of club founder

PLAYERS at Kirkby football club Beaufort United have kicked off the club's 40th season with the unveiling of a memorial bench to celebrate the life of founder Denis Freeman.
The bench has been placed on Kingsway Park to remember Mr Freeman, who helped create the club in 1969 and died in June 2007.
A club spokesman told Chad: "The club over the years grew in strength and Denis devoted his time to coaching and managing teams.
"In later years he liked to watch as many of the teams as possible.
"He took great pride in the number of youngsters who progressed to play professional or semi-professional football."
