'I will risk jail for my daughter'

A FURIOUS mum says she is prepared to risk prison rather than let her disabled daughter be re-educated at the Sutton Centre.
Thirteen-year-old Jodie Davies suffers from epilepsy, behavioural problems and learning difficulties and was pulled out of the school eight months ago after she became the victim of bullies.
She has since been studying at the Sutton-based C.H.A.T centre, which caters for pupils with special needs who are unable to make progress in mainstream education.
But education chiefs say Jodie must now return to the Sutton Centre for the start of the next academic year following a withdrawal in funding.
Mum Jacqueline Spencer told Chad: "This is not the right move for her at all.
"She will not make any progress at the Sutton Centre and will become the victim of bullying again.
"She hated her time there and now Jodie is very stressed by the situation and it will be a nightmare if she has to go back to the school.
"She has already threatened to run away if she is made to go back.
"I will not take her back there even if this means I am taken to court by the authorities. I will stand up for what is right."
Sutton Centre's headteacher Roger Tanner told Chad the school was currently meeting with Mrs Spencer to decide the best way of moving the situation forward for Jodie.
"With the support of the local authority we had alternative provisions in place for Jodie," he said.
"The Local Authority funding has been withdrawn and we are trying to support her and her mum by looking for alternative places.
"We have organised a meeting with Mrs Spencer to try and find a solution that is best for Jodie."
