Following on from Sutton third men's team's recent narrow defeat, some of their other teams have experienced close matches.
Sutton first mixed played host to West Bridgford II team ands drew 9-9 on sets, with Sutton having the moral victory as they won more games than their opponents.

Set scores for Sutton were Nigel Derbyshire and Marie Imrie 4-2, John Fowler and Rebecca Wood 4-2, and Robert Baird and Anne Derbyshire 1v5.

Sutton II Ladies team travelled to West Bridgford to play the David Lloyd first team. Sutton ran out 9½-8½ sets winners, despite winning fewer games.

Sutton’s junior pairing of Rebecca Wood and Joanne Derbyshire took all six sets with Svetlana Barker and Anne Derbyshire winning 3½- 2½. Doreen Fowler and Margaret Campion completed the team.

A week later Sutton Ladies II played host to David Lloyd II and won by a seemingly more convincing margin of 10½-7½.

However, the game score tells a different story as Sutton won 79 compared to 74 for David Lloyd.

Sutton’s junior pairing of Rebecca Wood and Joanne Derbyshire again took all six sets with Svetlana Barker and Margaret Miller winning 4½-1½.

Bethany Clarke and Julia Parker-Moore completed the team.
