Sutton ladies secure title

THE last race in this season's Booths Decorators Road Race League at Shipley Hall saw Sutton Harriers' women secure the ladies title.
On a very hilly course in hot sticky conditions, they secured third spot on the night to maintain their place and secure the overall title.

Individual performances of note saw Jodie Sibert finish in her highest place of the season, Trish Steele ran 43.49 to collect second place in the VL 40 category overall, while Bev Dawes and Julie Powis ran in 39.37 and 39.38 respectively.

Evergreen Keith Brown again ran consistently to secure second in the VM50 category overall.

Other overall prize winners were: 1st VL Claire Woollis, 3rd VL35 Tracey Holmes and 3rd VM60 Bryan Timmins.

Postman Chris Taylor delivered the goods again with a strong run to finish ahead of Phill Bird in the club championship.

With 20 plus Sutton Harriers’ regularly competing in the league, it has been good seson for the club.

Sutton times: 16th Claire Woolis 26.07, 24th Alex Brewer 27.03, 28th Dan Bailey 27.21, 31st Keith Brown 27.47, 49th Stephen Williams 29.05, 52nd Gary Davis 29.17, 71st Eric Round 30.22, 73rd Tracy Holmes 30.33, 107th Chris Taylor 32.45, 112th Phill Bird 33.12, 117th Jodie Sibert 33.50, 118th Paul Beasley 33.51, 121st Mark Smith 34.08, 124th Joe Ball 34.17, 144th Trevor Platts 36.35, 161st Bev Dawes 39.37, 162nd Julie Powis 39.38, 164th Philip Bramley 39.50, 165th Mark Frost 40.27, 173rd Jean Drury 41.41, 178th Susan Everatt-Hall 42.26, 179th Patricia Steel 43.49, 180th Mick Bird 44.30.
