Teversal put in a workman like performance to claim a well-deserved but rare 3-0 victory in the Carlsberg Vase, a competition that they have failed to make an impression in over recent seasons.
The home side started brightly with Lyall crossing for Woodcock who was found to be stretching to make a notable contact with the effort going wide of the target.
Griff looked sharp on the break and, against the run of play, Partridge found himsel
f in the clear with a lunging challenge by Goodacre putting a halt to the striker's run.
But the defender was adjudged to have taken too much of the player with the referee having no doubt in awarding a fifth minute penalty.
Darren Massingham stepped up to fire a powerfully hit spot kick low to Herrings left, but the Tevie custodian got down to make a stunning save - his third spot kick save out of four so far this season.
For all their possession the home side were having opportunities kept to a minimum due to some solid defending by the visitors.
The Tevie boys continued to knock at the door and an excellent block by Simon Hudson denied a well-struck effort from Woodcock after another of the neat passing moves opened up the visitors.
With half time approaching Teversal finally got the goal their efforts deserved.
An excellent opportunist goal from Jamie Smith saw the midfielder pick the ball up to fire into the top corner as the visitors were organising the wall to defend the 25 yard free kick on 43 minutes - a lead that was to be taken into the break.
With the tempo set in the first period, Teversal maintained the standard of football that saw them control the game.
Goalscoring opportunities came more frequently and O'Neil was alert on numerous occasions to make routine saves to keep his side in the game.
But on 63 minutes Teversal achieved the cushion of a second goal when Orton and Lyall combined superbly down the left flank with the latter delivering a cross that invited Andy Woodcock to guide the ball home and put a truer reflection on the game.
Like you would expect, Griff started to push players forward and had their best spell in the game with Gazeley lifting an effort over the advancing Herrin,g but Cancellara cleared off the line under pressure from Donaldson.
Goodacre was then called upon to clear while defending at the near post from a visitors' corner, which along with the first half penalty summed up the goal-bound efforts from Griff.
The scoring was completed and progression assured on 81 minutes when another quick throw in and neat build-up play by Orton released Woodcock who unselfishly laid the ball into the path of Jamie Smith to walk it home to make it 3-0 and lay to rest the previous week's poor performance.
Teversal will now be aiming to put their Vase hoodoo to bed when they aim to achieve their first away victory in the tournament at either Bardon Hill Sports or Holwell Sports, both of the East Midlands Counties League, on Saturday, 20th September, their tie being postponed due to the weather on Saturday.
Before that, though, the Tevie Boys have two home games when they entertain Leeds Carnegie at Carnarvon Street on Saturday (3pm) followed by the visit of Rossington Main on Tuesday, 16th September (7.45pm).
