TEVERSAL Football Club has moved swiftly to appoint a new Manager after the resignation of Stace Leaper due to personal reasons over the weekend.
The Tevie Committee have gone on record to thank Leaper who had held the top seat for last season during which they finished 10th in the Northern Counties East League Division One and reached the Wilkinson Sword Trophy Final, a season which saw the c
lub finishing the highest they have ever achieved in the National League system.
With the new season due to start within two weeks, the Teversal Committee felt that it was important to have continuity and find a replacement to continue the year on year improvements the club has made over a number of years.
With that in mind the club have announced that Paul Thompson will step up from reserve team manager to take the first team helm.
Thompson has served an excellent apprenticeship within the club having managed the reserves for the past eight years, and has been a very important part of the club's rise, thereby earning the opportunity to have a shot at leading the club's senior football section.
The management team throughout the club has also seen Colin Thacker and Gary Spencer taking on the responsibility of managing the reserves after having an excellent debut season with the club last season running the very successful Under 19 team. The pair will maintain their post with the Under 19s with assistance coming from the newly formed Under 18s management team of Carl Steed and Garry Dulson.
The playing squad have been informed of the changes and now full focus will return on getting the first team ready for the opening game at home to new boys Brighouse Town, with the Reserves due to start a week later when Staveley MW Reserves visit Carnarvon Street.
