A 50-YEAR-OLD man charged with murder following an altercation in Swanwick will remain in custody until his next court appearance in September.
Martin Argyle, of Lower Somercotes, is accused of stabbing father-of-four Stephen Byard (55) to death following a late-night incident on Pentrich Road in the village.

Police were called to the scene just before midnight on 7th June and found Mr Byard collapsed in the street.

He was taken to Derbyshire Royal Infirmary but died shortly afterwards.
Argyle appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday and spoke only to confirm his name.

The court was told the police investigation into the incident was continuing and officers were carrying out house-to-house enquires and looking at forensic evidence on clothing.

Argyle did not apply for bail and will remain in custody until he appears before the court again on 22nd September.
