DOUBLE Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington is to have the main square at Pinxton's East Midlands Designer Outlet renamed in her honour.
Centre bosses announced the fitting tribute to mark the emotional homecoming of Becky, who became Britain's greatest female swimmer after winning gold in the 400m and 800m freestyle at the Beijing games.

Overwhelmed Becky was greeted by thousands of noisy fans and curious onlookers who lined the streets of Mansfield to catch a glimpse of Britain's new swimming superstar as she was paraded through the town on an open-top bus.

Shops and homes across the town also got into the party spirit by flying high the Union Jack, which 19-year-old Becky wore so proudly at the Beijing Olympics.

Record-breaking Becky, who will also be given free designer shoes for life from the centre, and her proud family were then treated to a special party organised by Mansfield District Council.

Shaun Rhodes, marketing manager for East Midlands Designer Outlet, said: "We hope that this is an honour that Rebecca will really appreciate.

"We are using our contacts with leading luxury brands across Europe to put together a shoe lover's dream that may even rival her two gold medals."

Jubilant Becky is known to have a passion for designer shoes and was presented with a special pair of golden Jimmy Choo shoes by Mansfield mayor Tony Egginton during her showpiece homecoming on Tuesday.
