A SOMERCOTES teenager was mugged and beaten up by a gang of yobs on his way home from work on Saturday.
The four youths struck as 18-year-old Michael Davison wal-ked along Nottingham Road, Alfreton, at around 10.45pm after finishing his shift at the Wagon and Horses pub.

Michael was pushed against a wall and repeatedly punched, before the gang took his black Samsung G600 mobile phone, an Ipod MP3 player and a digital camera as well as his brown converse bag and wallet.

Michael was taken to King's Mill Hospital to treat swelling to his head and back, but police say that although he was left shaken his injuries are not serious.

Ringleader

The ringleader is described as white, 5ft 11ins, with an athletic build and wearing a black hooded top with a logo on the back.

The three others were of a similar description and one wore a pale-coloured top.

Police are now searching for a bus driver who may have seen the incident as well as a man in his 50s who helped Michael after the attack.
