DOG owners can get their pets 'identichipped' for free on 17th June as part of a scheme promoted by Amber Valley Borough Council.
The council’s dog wardens will be at the visitor centre in Shipley Country Park between 10.30am and 3pm and no appointment is necessary.

Said dog warden Jen Gdula: “Having your dog identichipped makes permanent identification simple. The process is quick and completely painless and involves implanting a microchip the size of a grain of rice.

“We carry scanners and if we find a stray dog that has been identichipped we can quickly and easily identify the owner.

‘Save’

“This means we can return your dog to you before you incur costly detention and kennelling fees –– and it will probably save you lots of unnecessary worry.”

l For more information on identichipping contact 01773 841335.
