A REPORT focusing on improving the health and well-being of people in Derbyshire has been published this week.
The review looks at on the ageing population in Derbyshire, the effects of poverty on health, lifestyles and the importance of good mental health for overall health and well-being.

Dr David Black, director of public health at Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust (PCT) and Derbyshire County Council wrote the report and says it is a significant step forward.

"This brings together key thoughts and ideas for a wide range of groups and organisations responsible for improving the health and well-being of Derbyshire people," he said.

"I hope this report makes it clear that it is only by working together that we can improve the health and well-being of people in Derbyshire now and in the future when Derbyshire will have an older population."

Copies of Derbyshire Director of Public Health Annual Report 2007/08 can be downloaded from the PCT's website at www.derbyshirecountypct.nhs.uk/default.asp
