MANSFIELD Triathlon Club's Chris Dale started the 2009 season in the same fashion as he finished 2008, with an age group victory in the Mansfield Sprint Triathlon.
His time of 47:55 gave him victory in his age group (Males under 24) by a clear five minutes and it placed him 5th overall amongst all finishers.

Gareth Castledine, who recently qualified for the World Duathlon Championships at the first attempt, took 15th position overall with another quick time of 52:24 and this gave him 3rd place in his age group (Males 25-29).

This result followed on from a top 5 position for Castledine in the previous week's Underwood 10k (37:46).

Taking part in his fourth Mansfield Triathlon, and celebrating the third anniversary of his first ever triathlon was club coach Hugh Barnett, who finished in 1:28:22.

Also racing from the club were Sue Day (58:27), Conrad Watson (1:04:10), Ky North (1:04:26), Martin McShane (1:12:23), Michael Bird (1:19:43), and Samantha Clarke (1:20:08).
