Lindrick
Golf Club
The
Course
18
holes 6606 yards par 71 SSS 72
Founded
in 1891 Lindrick is a course that will for ever be linked with
the Great Britain and Ireland Ryder Cup victory over the United
States in 1957.
Situated
on the Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire border the course
is split by the A57, its only drawback.
A
supreme test of golf, the course is quick draining with fast
true green and acres of trouble.
Stay
of the fairway and you are o.k, drive into the rough and its
dropped shots.
The
second hole is a pretty dog leg with an uphill second to a
well bunkered green
The
4th is memorable for the blind pitch to the green over a drop
which you then drive over on the fifth.
The
12th and 13th both have slight dog legs, but where as the 12th
is a tight hole the 13th offers the chance to the expansive
driver.
The
trouble with Lindrick is, when you have finished your round
their are so many good holes that it is difficult to remember
them all.
The
club is a member of the Sheffield Union of Golf Clubs.
