SUTTON Town put the disappointment of Thursday's Notts Senior Cup semi-final defeat behind them to hammer a poor Brodsworth side in Saturday's stroll in the sun.
The home team had no answer to the Snipes' slick passing and movement, and but for th
e heroics of keeper Tim Whitehouse they would have been buried under an avalanche.
The writing was on the wall early on as the Snipes took complete control, pulling the Brodsworth defence apart, creating numerous chances and forcing a succession of corners, from one of which Gerard Alonso opened the scoring with a firm header into the roof of the net.
Adam Lee was brought down in the area two minutes later, only for Whitehouse to produce one of a number of fine saves, turning Lee's spot kick around the post.
But that was a brief respite as Paddy Mumbley fired home on 19 minutes and Damien Magee powered home a header from James Whitehead's corner on the half-hour.
Brodsworth somehow managed to survive to half time without conceding further despite several close calls, including Craig Mitchell's 25-yard screamer that just cleared the bar as Sutton continued to dominate.
The second period followed the same pattern as Brodsworth struggled to contain the wave of attacks with the Snipes creating acres of space on the flanks to deliver numerous dangerous crosses into the box.
Ben Cobley scored twice on 58 and 65 minutes, first forcing home James Dooley's cross and then cleverly making space in the box to crack a low drive into the corner of the net.
Sixteen-year-old Kyle Ludlow was given his debut, coming off the bench with 25 minutes left, and showed with his pace and touch that a bright future could be ahead.
He just failed to mark his debut with a goal, turning Adam Jones' cross the wrong side of the post.
Dooley added a brace on 67 and 79 as the Snipes cruised to an easy victory.
SUTTON: Walker, Whitehead, Alonso, Blunt (Jones 63), Ashford, Mumbley, Dooley, Magee, Mitchell (Ludlow 65), Lee (Westcarr 53), Cobley.
