PROFESSIONAL boxing will hit Sutton on 13th May when the town stages probably its biggest sporting event for some years.
Local promoter Scott Calow is putting on the show which will feature the return to the ring of local boxer Carl Chiverton.
Carl had an illustrious career as an amateur, winning several titles along the way, but an injury has restricted his training
routine and has kept him out of the ring for around a year.
That injury resulted in defeat at the hands of Kafu Santos in his last fight, but now that he is fully fit following intensive physiotherapy he is relishing the chance of a rematch.
Santos is still to confirm his availability for the date, but Chiverton hopes to see him in the opposite corner on the night.
Also on the bill and making his professional debut is Alfreton's Dale Miles, a young, exciting and explosive fighter who lost only one amateur bout and had an 80 per cent knockout record in his other contests.
Six fights will feature up and coming professionals.
Calow has just gained his promoters' licence, having worked his way up as a trainer and then manager of several up and coming boxers.
He made this natural progression through the ranks in order to promote his boxers and enable them to have the fights they need to achieve their maximum potential.
Special guest will be former world welterweight champion Terry Marsh, who is promoting his autobiography and will be signing copies onthe night.
