Witnesses sought to Bulwell armed robbery
The drama unfolded in the Wilkinson store car park at around 11.20am on Tuesday when the van was targeted by three offenders in a black Peugeot 206.
Officers say the van driver was threatened with a knife and punched and a cash bag was taken.

Hide AdThe Peugeot collided with a silver Mercedes as it left the scene, heading in the direction of Tesco.
The robbery took place at the rear entrance to the store, which also contains a Post Office.
News of the robbery has led to officers urging the public to be vigilant.
Said neighbourhood policing Inspector Christine Busuttil, based at Bulwell police station, said: “This was a particularly nasty incident in the middle of people Christmas shopping.

Hide Ad“We will endeavour to find the offenders and bring them to justice. Thankfully, incidents like this are not common in the Bulwell area but we would ask that members of the public be vigilant and report anything relevant.”
Officers particularly want to help in tracing the occupants of the silver Mercedes that was damaged as the offenders escaped.

l In a separate incident, police were called at 9.43am yesterday to Spruce Gardens in Bulwell following reports of an altercation.

Hide AdOn arrival two men were found to have suffered injuries, one a stab wound.
The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Both men were taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre.
Three men have been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.
As the Dispatch went to press yesterday, investigations were still on-going.
